LINCOLN, Neb. — The Platte Institute recently released a report on best methods to reduce prions overcrowding, without building a new prison.

KMTV reports that supervised probation, relaxing barriers to find jobs once released and ending direct release of criminals from solitary confinement are all listed as ways to reduce overcrowding in the prison system.

The study has the endorsement of the ACLU, who has threatened to sue if lawmakers fail to fix the prison system problem.

Several bills have been introduced toward correcting the Nebraska prison system, which has been plagued with poor leadership and errors.

The same recommendations that the report made have proven successful in states like Louisiana and Texas.

Lawmakers will begin debating the prison reform bills next week.
