FRACKVILLE, Pa. — A Pennsylvania inmate is stuck with a $132 bill for television that he claims he wasn’t even there to watch.

According to PennLive, Hiram R. Johnston Jr. had his bid to get his money back rejected since he had signed an agreement that specified he would be charged for prison cable even if he wasn’t present to watch it if he failed to notify the inmate accounting office.

Johnston has been in custody since 1980, and in June of 2012 he was suddenly shipped off to New Jersey on a parole issue with an hour’s notice.

He turned in the TV cable but failed to notify the inmate accounting office that he wanted to stop his $16.50-a-month television service.

State prison inmates are allowed to buy only bare bones cable service.
