ALBANY, N.Y. — Rensselaer County Sheriff Jack Mahar swore in a dozen new correction officers Monday.
“It’s going to be a good career for you,” Mahar told the new members of the sheriff’s office.
The new correction officers are Corey P. Barton, Galvin A. Boyer, Vincent Edmonds II, Ashley N. Gabriel, John E. Kewley, Joseph A. Landy, Travis Littlefield, Kayla L. Messier, Michael P. Orecki, Kevin M. Owens,Tristan T. Phoenix and Jenna M. Spenard.
Mahar said this new group of officers will undergo training at the jail. By May, he said, another class of officers will bring the jail up to its full staffing of 130 officers.
