BROOKLYN, NY — A retired corrections officer fought back tears as he accepted a check for a year of free rent after he won a news station’s contest.
PIX 11 reports that Mike Pennington said the prize will help him and his family in so many ways. He called his wife to tell her the news while he was on TV, discussing his win.
This is the second time he’s entered the contest; last spring, he entered but didn’t win. When the contest came around again, he jumped at the chance.
