State COs join Ride for Missing Children

“Each year, our members ride to make children safer, one child at a time”

MARCY — Members of the New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association will be participating in the Ride for Missing and Exploited Children today as the union sponsors the event for the ninth straight year.

“Each year, our members ride to make children safer, one child at a time – a mission that is close to our hearts as law enforcement officers living, working and raising our own families in this community,” said union Central Region Vice President John Gavin.

The Mid-State Correctional Facility in Marcy is one of the locations where the 100-mile bike ride will top Friday morning.

The Central Region union branch has made a $3,000 sponsorship for riders Correction Officer Paul Schulz and Correction Sergeant Paul Foley, according to a news release. An additional $1,000 was donated by union Law Enforcement Vice President John Harmon.
