ROGERSVILLE — A Hawkins County jail officer was fired Thursday following an investigation into what the Sheriff’s Office described as inappropriate physical contact with an inmate.
The incident occurred about three weeks earlier, and didn’t rise to the level of assault, HCSO Chief Deputy Tony Allen told the Times-News Sunday.
Allen said jail officer Scott Winkle “laid hands” upon an inmate while walking that inmate back to his cell following a disturbance.
