SILVERDALE, Tenn. — A man escaped Sunday night from the Silverdale Detention Center by scaling a fence topped with razor wire, according to Dusty Stokes of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department.
Officials at the Corrections Corporation of America facility contacted sheriff’s deputies about 7:20 p.m. that Jason Matthew Green was last seen inside the facility about an hour earlier, Deputy Stokes said.
Guards reported the prisoner, who was incarcerated on East Ridge charges ranging from burglary to assault on police, had climbed the fence, placed a blanket over the wire and escaped.
Mr. Green, 27, is reportedly 5 foot 11 inches tall, weighs about 145 pounds and has blue eyes, light brown facial hair and a shaved head. He has a tattoo of a skull on the bend of his right arm, and an eagle is tattooed on his right shoulder.
Mr. Green was last seen wearing a tan two-piece Silverdale uniform, officials said.
Hamilton County sheriff’s deputies, Hamilton County K-9 units and officers with the Chattanooga Police Department were combing the area for the fugitive, Deputy Stokes said.
