WILLIAMSON COUNTY — Two Williamson County correctional officers have been accused of falsifying a jail log kept on suicidal inmates, according to a news release from the Williamson County sheriff’s office.
Theodore Hodges, 22, and Jose Hodgers-Lizarraga, 23, were both charged Wednesday with tampering with a government record, according to the release. They were responsible for checking the welfare of suicidal inmates and documenting those checks in a suicide watch log, it said.
The officers were required by state law and by sheriff’s office policy to write their initials and the time of the checks in the log, according to the sheriff’s office. Hodges and Hodgers-Lizarraga wrote fake times in the suicide watch log and did not perform the checks on the inmates, the release said.
They have both been placed on paid administrative leave until an internal investigation is complete. Hodges was being held Thursday in the Williamson County Jail with bail set at $20,000, according to court records.
Hodgers-Lizarraga was released Wednesday from the Williamson County Jail after posting bail set at $20,000, the records show.
