AUSTIN — A 19-year-old Texas native is facing a life sentence for baking pot brownies.
According to the ABC News, the charges are so severe due to Jacob Lavoro’s recipe.
Lavoro also allegedly mixed in hash oil, which features a higher concentration of THC. Under Texas law, the oil can be treated similarly to far more serious narcotics such as ecstasy.
Since the oil was cooked into the brownies, police charged him for the whole weight of the batch – 1.5 pounds.
Lavoro is due back in court next month.
