HUNTSVILLE — Texas death row inmate Mario Swain, 33, is to scheduled die Thursday evening for the beating, stabbing and strangulation of a woman during a break-in at her East Texas home a decade ago.
Lola Nixon, 46, was killed at her home in Longview. Swain led police to the woman’s body, which he had dumped in the back seat of an abandoned car in a remote part of Gregg County, about 120 miles east of Dallas.
Authorities said he had a pattern of attacking women and robbing them, often using a chemical inhalant or stun gun to knock them out.
