Contraband is a steady part of the job. Corrections officers are constantly finding it, confiscating it and reporting on the clever tricks inmates and prisoners have used to try and sneak the banned materials in. 5. Inmate uses cardboard to escape from jail
Paul Holley wedged the door to the recreation yard open with a piece of cardboard, and when everyone else was asleep, snuck outside.
4. Escaped prisoner used piece of pen to unshackle legs, police say
James B. Ciaramitaro was able to slip out of his handcuffs and unlock his leg shackles by using a piece of an ink pen that he hid in his mouth prior to departing the jail.
