ANCHORAGE — Gov. Bill Walker released the third video in a series that documents the death of Larry Kobuk, KTUU reported.

The footage, approved by Kobuk’s family, was released in an effort to be transparent and draw attention to wide-ranging problems within the corrections system.

“It’s an attempt to be as honest as possible about what happened,” Dean Williams, special assistant to Gov. Bill Walker, told the news site.

Kobuk was admitted to the facility on Jan. 25, 2015 on charges of vehicle theft and evading police. He was searched by officers but refused to comply with their orders.

Video shows Kobuk being helped down by correctional officers as they cut off his sweatshirt and pants. He struggles at first but then becomes still.

The inmate is left alone in the cell before officers return with a nurse.

An official report concluded excessive force was used.

Kobuk had a heart condition and was on medication.
