SOLANO COUNTY, Calif. — Two Solano County inmates escaped early Tuesday morning from a minimum-security corrections camp just outside Suisun City, officials said.

Authorities are now on the hunt for Eduardo Hernandez, 29, and Jose Padilla, 32, who were last seen at Delta Conservation Camp around 4:30 a.m., according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Hernandez, a Hispanic man, about 5-foot-4 and 125 pounds, is described as having a medium build with brown eyes, black hair and a medium complexion. Officials said Hernandez was imprisoned July 21, 2005, after being convicted in a Los Angeles County carjacking case and was scheduled to be paroled in June 2016.

Padilla, also a Hispanic man, stands 5-foot-10 and weighs 160 pounds with a medium build. He has brown eyes, black hair and a medium complexion. Padilla was committed to the CDCR in April from Los Angeles County after being convicted of stalking, making terrorist threats and causing corporal injury to his spouse, authorities said. He was scheduled to be paroled in December 2015.

Both were last seen wearing blaze orange jeans and a shirt with “CDCR Prisoner” written on the back.

According to Oscar Hidalgo, a CDCR media representative, fire camps such as the Delta Conservation Camp are low security.
