JESSIEVILLE, Ark. — A 70-year-old convicted robber who escaped from California prison in 1977 has been caught 36 years later and some 1,600 miles away, federal authorities said.
Michael Ray Morrow was arrested Monday in Jessieville, Ark., the FBI said.
He had been wanted following his August, 27, 1977, escape from the California Institute for Men Facility in Chino, where he had been serving time for armed robbery at the time of his escape.
