Md. prison escapee arrested 30 years later

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. A man who escaped from a Maryland prison more than 30 years ago was arrested in Oklahoma City on Monday after he called the police to complain he was being extorted.

Oklahoma City police arrested Anthony Rackley, 62, after Rackley called police to report being the victim of extortion. Rackley told police he escaped from prison in Maryland in July 1980.

Rackley told police he had assumed the name Jack Watson after he escaped, and had been making a living raising money for the Lions Club. Rackley told police he told his fundraising partner about 10 years ago that he was a fugitive.
