ATLANTIC COUNTY, NJ — An officer accused of using excessive force while transporting a juvenile inmate in 2007 was absolved of the charges.
Kyleah Smith, 17 at the time of the incident, claimed to have suffered injuries inflicted by the officer during transport, according to NJ.com.
A jury unanimously found the correction officer’s actions to be a good faith effort to maintain and restore discipline. His actions did not constitute excessive force.
