Corrections officer guilty of stealing from inmates

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — A Dayton corrections officer caught on camera stealing from inmates has been found guilty.

Officials with the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office said a motion was made to sever two counts of theft against Malcom Capps, 37. One was heard Monday in a bench trial, where the guilty verdict was handed down. A scheduling conference will occur at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 17 for the other count.
