DENVER — Five sheriff’s deputies won’t be disciplined for their involvement in the death of a street preacher at Denver’s jail, even though the coroner ruled it a homicide.

Safety manager of Charles Garcia says an investigation concluded that the deputies didn’t violate the department’s use of force policy or any other department rules related to use of force in the death of 56-year-old Marvin Booker.

He died July 9 at the jail and his family says authorities have covered up details of his death.

Denver officials also released a videotape Monday showing the deputies struggling with Booker, and Booker being hit with a stun gun.

Officials say they met with the family to show them the video before making it public but declined to comment to a reporter.
