COLUMBUS, Ohio — HIV positive inmates sued Ohio for allegedly releasing their medical records to the general prison population according to The Associated Press.
They said once their records were released they were subjected to ridicule and threats behind bars.
The lawsuit, filed by six prisoners with more expected, claims prison officials placed a record of inmates being treated for HIV where other offenders could see it. The suits seek at least $25,000 per inmate.
