A corrections officer was treated and released after being assaulted at the Iowa State Penitentiary in Fort Madison, Iowa, reported WQAD.com.
A housing unit was placed on restricted movement Saturday following the assault and visiting for Housing Unit Two inmates has been suspended indefinitely.
The Iowa Department of Corrections didn’t provide more details on the assault or the condition of the CO.
The incident is under investigation.
