WHITEVILLE, N.C. — A North Carolina inmate was reportedly beaten and stabbed with a broken broom handle by another inmate Saturday night.
WECT reports that Robert K. White, 39, was hit with a broom handle several times until it broke. The inmate, whose name wasn’t released, then stabbed White multiple times with the broken object. White was rushed to the hospital.
The sheriff’s office said they were investigating the situation and have made no arrests or charges at this time.
White’s condition is unknown at this time.
