COLUMBIA — Two longtime South Carolina government employees have been tapped to run the state’s Department of Juvenile Justice and the Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services.

Cola Daily reports that Gov. Nikki Haley has tapped Sylvia Murray will head the DJJ, of which she has been an employee for 11 years.

She also had a recent stint as the agency’s deputy director of administration under former director Margaret Barber.

Jerry Adger will head the Dept. of Probation. He’s a 30-year veteran state employee, and recently served as the inspector general for the Department of Corrections.

Adger spent 23 years with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division before moving to DJJ in 1999 to lead the agency’s newly developed Office of the Inspector General.
