BONNE TERRE, Mo. — A St. Francois County Jury found a former ERDCC corrections officer not guilty of two charges of offender abuse after 45 minutes of deliberation on Thursday.
It was ruled that David Shipley acted in consistency with the law and policies of the Missouri Department of Corrections, despite accusations of excessive force after an inmate had been restrained, according to the Daily Journal.
Shipley was one of three former ERDCC corrections officers charged by the Missouri Attorney General’s Office in July 2014 for unrelated offenses.
