COXSACKIE — An inmate being placed in a new unit became upset with his new assignment and attacked an officer transporting him with a razor taped to a toothbrush handle.
CBS News reports that the inmate Samuel Smalls, was serving time for burglary at the Greene County Correctional Facility when he attacked the officer.
The officer suffered a three-inch laceration to his chest, along with bruising to his left eye and ear.
Smalls has since been transferred to a maximum-security facility.
The razor used for the contraband weapon was prison issued.
