MARION COUNTY — A gun, jewelry and other items were reported stolen from an Ocala home on Wednesday.
Officials with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office went to the home of a corrections officer at Lowell Correctional Institute and were told by the woman that her department-issued 9mm firearm, ammunition, rings and an iPod were missing.
The burglary is the third since the beginning of the month during which a thief or thieves burglarized homes belonging to Lowell Correctional Institute corrections officers and removed firearms, according to the MCSO.
