CLINTON — An Anderson County Jail inmate accused of trying to stab a jailer with an ink pen received an 8-year prison sentence after pleading guilty Monday in Criminal Court to aggravated assault.

Because he is classified as a multiple offender, Donald Matthew Bradley, 42, will have to serve 35 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole, according to court records.

Bradley was indicted by an Anderson County grand jury for attacking Roger Hyde with an ink pen on June 8, 2011.

The jailer wasn’t injured, a court official said.
