WASCO, Calif. — An officer at Wasco State Prison was attacked by an inmate.
The CO was preparing to hand out dinner to the inmates Nov. 23 when Dustin Sean Ross McDonald, 25, punched and stabbed the officer with a makeshift weapon, according to My News LA.
The unidentified officer was stabbed in his face and left arm, officials told the publication. He suffered a total of five puncture wounds.
During the attack, McDonald grabbed the CO’s baton and began swinging it at him. The officer was able to retrieve the baton and defend himself, officials said.
The officer was treated at a local hospital and sent home.
McDonald has been transferred to another prison. He was recently sentenced to 114-years-to-life for a revenge killing, the publication reported.
