FARMINGTON — A former Lewiston and Wilton man was sentenced June 4 to serve 20 months for hitting a corrections officer. That sentence will follow a 323-day sentence related to another case, according to court documents.

Jonathan Nurse, 39, pleaded guilty June 4 to a felony charge of assault on a corrections officer at the Franklin County jail in Farmington on Oct. 26, 2012. He also pleaded guilty to a felony charge of criminal threatening related to a different incident that occurred July 16, 2012, in Wilton. Charges of domestic violence assault and obstructing a report of a crime in the latter case were dismissed.

Nurse has been in jail since last year.

Justice Michaela Murphy sentenced Nurse to 323 days on the criminal threatening charge and a consecutive 20 months in prison on the felony assault conviction on an officer, court documents state.

Nurse was accused of hitting the corrections officer in the face with his hand while at the Franklin County jail in Farmington, Franklin County Sheriff Lt. Niles Yeaton said last year. There were marks on the corrections officer’s neck and blood on his ear, he had said.

Nurse was sprayed with tear gas by a corrections officer and put in a cell, Yeaton said previously.
