CHARLESTON, Mo. — An inmate is charged with assault after grabbing the arm of a female corrections officer through a food port.
KFVS reports that inmate Jeremy Pearson is accused of reaching through a food port on his cell door and grabbing the officer’s arm as she served meal trays.
The officer immediately pulled her arm away from Pearson and was not injured, according to the Mississippi County Sheriff’s Office.
Pearson is charged with assault of a corrections officer in the third degree and remains behind bars with bond set at $1,500.
