LINCOLN COUNTY — An inmate at the Lincoln County Jail is accused of injuring several corrections officers.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s officials say a 28-year-old man from Waupun who is being held at the jail, could face further charges after the incident. Authorities say corrections officers were called to the jail Sunday morning after a report of a medical emergency.
They say the 28-year-old inmate had reportedly suffered a seizure, but when corrections officers arrived at the cell block, he jumped up and hit one of them. While corrections officers were trying to move him to a holding cell, they say he bit a second corrections officer.
Then, a third corrections officer was injuring while removing a tazer probe. All three of the corrections officers and the inmate were taken to the hospital to be checked out.
