WYOMING — State police across the state held memorial services Wednesday morning to honor troopers killed in the line of duty.
At the annual service at the Wyoming Barracks in Luzerne County, state police also remembered a corrections officer who died earlier this year.
Current and retired troopers at the state police barracks in Wyoming laid a wreath and read the names of the 10 troopers from Troop P who have died on the job. Since Pennsylvania founded the law enforcement agency 108 years ago, 94 troopers have been killed across the state.<
“Everytime these men put on a uniform, every time they get in that patrol car, they’re putting their lives on the line for the people of this state,” said Sgt. Chester Zaremba, retired trooper.
