CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A probation officer assigned to Mecklenburg County has been arrested on heroin charges after investigators say he twice bought the drug while on duty.
Justin Shane McGlamery has been charged with four counts of heroin possession; four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of drugs with intent to sell or distribute; and trafficking.
Union County investigators say McGlamery bought heroin four times over a two-week period last month. During two of the purchases, they say, he was on duty as a probation officer, driving his state-issued car and displaying his gun and badge.
During the last sale, on May 28, investigators took away McGlamery’s gun and badge and placed them into evidence. Investigators say he will also face charges for selling hydrocodone and oxycodone.
McGlamery was released from jail on $125,000 bail. He is scheduled to make a first court appearance on July 7.
