FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. — Fresno County’s new chief probation officer, Rick Chavez, will be sworn in Thursday.
A ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. in the B.F. Sisk Courthouse Jury Assembly Room, 1130 O St. in downtown Fresno. Judge Gary D. Hoff, the presiding judge for Fresno County’s Superior Court, will administer the oath of office.
Chavez took over as head of Fresno County’s Probation Department after former chief probation officer Linda Penner took a new job in Sacramento as executive officer of the Board of State and Community Corrections.
