CONCORD, N.H. — A minimum-security prison inmate scheduled to be paroled Wednesday was arrested Friday after he didn’t return on time to a Concord halfway house, according to the state Department of Corrections.
Robert Kenyon, 53, of Concord is serving a two- to six-year sentence for sale, possession and manufacturing of opium, the department said in a news release.
He was sentenced out of Merrimack County Superior Court in 2009 and is scheduled to be paroled Wednesday.
Kenyon has been staying at the NorthTransitional Housing Unit, 281 N. State St., and was given permission to visit a family member Friday, the department said.
He didn’t return by 8 p.m., the designated time, and was designated a “walkaway” at 9:30 p.m., according to the release.
He was arrested by the Concord police about 11 p.m., the department said in the release, adding that he may be charged with escape, which carries a maximum of 3[1/2] to seven years in prison.
A message was left yesterday for a department spokesman.
