GREENSBURG, Pa. — A Carrick woman who is on probation for helping her boyfriend try to avoid arrest after he was accused of stabbing Pittsburgh Steelers lineman Mike Adams was charged Monday with threatening to kill probation officers.

Precious Gethers, 26, also is charged with aggravated assault and public drunkenness for the incident that city police say occurred around 9 a.m. at the Adult Probation Office along Arlington Avenue in Arlington.

Gethers was sentenced to 18 months probation in March for her conviction on charges of hindering the apprehension of Jerrell Whitlock, 28, who was one of three men charged with stabbing Adams in an incident June 1, 2013, outside the Cambod-Ican Kitchen on the South Side.

Whitlock and the others were acquitted of the most serious charges filed after the stabbing. However, he was sentenced to 18-to-36 months in prison for fleeing with Gethers and their child to Florida to avoid arrest.

Probation officers told police Gethers was intoxicated Monday when she showed up for her scheduled appointment with her probation officer, became disorderly and then combative as they tried to detain her, court papers state.

Gethers is accused of kicking one probation officer in the leg and then screaming she was “going to kill them all,” court papers state.

She was awaiting arraignment in Night Court.
