SUNRISE, FL - In light of recent actions by one of the leading soft body armor manufacturers regarding their announced free upgrade/product replacement of soft body armor using Zylon, I would like to assure our valued customer base in addition to all Law Enforcement and Military personnel that our entire product line of body armor is safe, including both our Epic (a Zylon/GoldFlex hybrid) and Zone (All-Zylon) series vests.
It is imperative for you to understand that we do not claim to produce the world’'s lightest body armor. We design body armor that is very wearable and most importantly…safe. We do not manufacture vests that are on the edge or that push the envelope. We over-design our vests and interestingly, we have never offered an all-Zylon Level IIA product; we also treat our Zylon fabric for water repellency. We recognize that there is an industry-wide concern regarding Zylon and we would like to see wearers continuing to put their trust in our products.
Two of the three largest weavers of Zylon fabric have suspended their production of Zylon based fabrics. What this means is simply that the worldwide supply of Zylon fabric may be significantly reduced and the availability of this fabric may be unpredictable. Additionally, with fewer companies making Zylon fabric, the cost of Zylon body armor will inevitably increase, while at the same time the availability of Zylon fabric will decrease. Reacting to these basic economic supply and demand principles, we will continue to offer our Zone and Epic body armor, however we anticipate a future cost increase in these two Zylon configurations and most importantly, the production lead-time is unknown.
We offer three other non-Zylon ballistic series vests for your consideration:
- ArmorLite: 100% Twaron
- Hybrid: Hybrid of Twaron and GoldFlex
- LFT: 100% Twaron LFT
Our LFT Series is our lightest body armor without Zylon. This all-Twaron Level II vest weighs .72 pounds per square foot and our Level IIIA weighs .92 pounds per square foot.
We are anticipating moving into our brand new corporate and production facility within the next 30 days. With this move, we will enjoy the benefits of a fully air-conditioned and climate-controlled factory including raw material storage, cutting, sewing and shipping.
