ROGERS COUNTY, Okla. — Trustees at the Rogers County Jail are giving back to the community by crocheting in their free time and donating the completed projects to a domestic violence shelter.

KJRH reports that the trustees are given the privilege of crocheting as a perk and incentive to continue their good behavior. Their crafts are given to the Safenet Services Family Shelter, which houses victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

The trustees are closely supervised by sheriff’s deputies, and they only use plastic needles while they work.
