JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is offering a $10,000 hiring incentive for both certified and non-certified applicants for a limited time.

According to the sheriff’s office, the incentive will be disbursed in the following schedule:

  • $2,500 upon completion of the Corrections Training Academy
  • $2,500 upon completion of the Corrections Field Training Officer (FTO) Program
  • $5,000 at the end of probation

The incentive is available for the next corrections academy class.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office will fund training for non-certified corrections recruits at the Northeast Florida Criminal Justice Training Center. Selected candidates will not only receive a salary but also have their tuition covered.

Corrections officer recruits with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office earn $43,572 annually while attending the academy and during the field training program. Once recruits complete training, they will earn $45,960 annually.

After corrections officers complete one year of continuous service, their base salary will increase to $48,444.
