ORANGEBURG, S.C. — An Orangeburg-Calhoun Regional Detention Center correctional officer has been terminated after being arrested on drunk driving and cocaine charges.
On Monday, OCRDC Director Willie Bamberg said 50-year-old Kerry King of Bowman has been “terminated as of today.”
“Here at the detention center and as far as breaking the law, we have a zero-tolerance policy,” Bamberg said. “We are officers for the community and we are to carry ourselves to a higher standard than others.” Bond was set on King at $5,000 personal recognizance.
