EERIE COUNTY, Pa. — Two former Erie County Prison officers, who face theft and tampering charges related to alleged wrongdoing at the prison, have agreed to drop efforts to reclaim their jobs.

The two have also applied for admission to a special probationary program for first-time nonviolent offenders.

Lawyers representing both Daniel S. Danowski, 40, and his wife Leslie L. Danowski, 39, have told county officials and representatives of Service Employees International Union Local 668 that their clients have withdrawn union grievances filed on their behalf.

The Danowskis, who were fired from their jobs in late October, have each applied for admission to the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program.

Those who successfully complete ARD may apply to have their records expunged.
