LOS ANGELES -- An officer at the federal prison in downtown San Diego has been indicted on suspicion of having sex with an inmate, officials announced Friday.
Brandon McKinney, 34, an oficer at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, is accused of having sex with a female inmate while on duty on July 20, 2010.
McKinney is charged with sexual abuse of a ward, which carries a maximum 15 years in prison. Federal Magistrate Judge William Gallo on Friday ordered McKinney held in custody until a bail hearing Tuesday.
