LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A former Metro correctional officer pleaded guilty to stealing from the department and agreed to pay restitution in exchange for probation.

WDRB reports that Joshua Spenton pleaded guilty to theft by deception and official misconduct, with a recommended sentence of two years in prison.

Part of the offer included paying $5,000 in restitution in exchange for probation instead of jail time.

Spenton was found to clock in at Metro Corrections but then go work at another off-duty security job.

He will be formally sentenced in August.
