HAGERSTOWN, Md. — A ninth corrections officer has been charged in the 2008 beating of inmate Kenneth Davis at a medium-security facility.
Ryan Lohr, according to the Washington Examiner, had been assigned to the infirmary where Davis was attacked in retaliation for an attack of another corrections officer. Davis had previously beaten up another corrections officer a day earlier in his cell.
According to charging papers, Lohr opened the door to Davis’ cell and allowed several fellow corrections officers to assault Davis in retaliation for the previous attack.
Documents also said that the corrections officers agreed to cover up the assault and said they didn’t see or hear anything.
Davis was hospitalized after four beatings in 24 hours at the Roxbury Correctional Institution. He was serving a 19-year sentence for robbery.
