PITTSBURGH — A woman was sexually assaulted in Allegheny County Jail in 2009 and guards beat her the next year when she was transferred back to the jail to prepare to testify, according to a complaint she filed today in U.S. District Court.
The woman, from Evans City, was jailed in 2009 for involuntary manslaughter. In December of that year, Corrections Officer Charles L. Walker approached her, placed her hand on his groin, and kissed her, according to the complaint filed by attorney Stephen M. Misko. Officer Walker then forced her to perform oral sex on him, according to the complaint.
In March, he pleaded guilty to institutional sexual assault, and was sentenced to nine months of home confinement and seven years of probation.
