LIVE OAK, Fla. — A correctional officer doing a routine security check was stabbed by an inmate with a homemade weapon.
According to WCTV, the Suwannee Correctional Institute officer was attacked by the inmate with a lock attached to a laundry bag, stabbing him twice in the back.
The officer was treated and is expected to be OK. Details of the attack, the officer, and the inmate’s name are being withheld during an investigation.
