PHEONIX, Ariz. — Inmates at Maricopa County jails will no longer be subject to around-the-clock holiday music this time of year.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio says the change comes after numerous complaints from inmates and detention staff that the music was more irritating than joyful.
Beginning in 2005, Arpaio ordered that the music be played throughout all jail facilities to ensure staff and inmates had some holiday cheer.
