LINCOLN, Neb. -- Two Nebraska prison inmates have successfully fought to have their heathen religion recognized by the prison system.
Wolfgang Rust and Bobby Conn filed a federal lawsuit in 2008 to force prison officials to recognize Theodish Belief and to allow them time and space to worship.
A settlement was reached in December, and the case was finalized this past week. Under the agreement, the prison system will recognize Theodish Belief and allow worshipers to procure items for religious ceremonies, including drinking horns and a boar’s tusk.
