Inmate charged after flushing T-shirt down toilet

Took plumber 3 hours to fix the issue, caused $500 in damages

MAQUOKETA, Iowa — An inmate at the Jackson Detention Center caused $500 in damages by flushing a T-shirt and bed sheet down a toilet.

Jason Laufenberg has been charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, according to Quad-City Times. He’s in jail on theft charges.

A plumbing service was called to the jail on November 17 for a sewer problem. Three hours later, the plumber found a shirt and bed sheet, which had been flushed down a toilet.
