LEXINGTON, Ky. — While reporting a prison break, station WDKY Fox 56 accidentally used the wrong image for one of the inmates.
LA Times reports that the station’s default for mugshots is that of John Wayne as his character U.S. Marshal “Rooster” Cogburn.
The mugshot for inmate Michael Fleet was not uploaded in time for the 10 p.m. newscast.
Wayne won an Oscar for his role as Cogburn in 1969’s “True Grit.” He passed in 1979.
