BEATRICE, Neb. — A Beatrice man has been sentenced to at least five years in prison for abusing his wife, including hitting her with a bathroom sink.
Terrence M. Thompson, 40, was sentenced Thursday in Gage County District Court on charges of third-degree assault, strangulation and possession of methamphetamine. Thompson struck a plea deal earlier that led to other charges being dropped.
Thompson’s wife told authorities that he hit her multiple times, including with a bathroom sink. Court documents indicated that the woman had a fractured rib and several bruises.
Officers were contacted in August after the woman’s son reported the abuse to his school.
